Format:
Participants individually solve 20 problems in 40 minutes.
There are 10 multiple-choice problems (worth 1 point each) and 10 short-answer problems (worth 2 points each).
Scoring:
Individual Score is calculated as the total points earned from all correct answers in Individual Round.
Correct (multiple-choice): +1 point each
Correct (short-answer): +2 points each
Blank / Incorrect: 0 point
The maximum Individual Score is 30 points. There is no penalty for incorrect or blank answers.
In case of ties, Round Tiebreaker Algorithm is used. If a tie remains, Expedition Score is used to break the ties.
Individual Score determines the final ranking for Individual Awards.
Format:
Team members cooperatively solve 12 problems in 30 minutes.
There are 12 short-answer problems (worth 10 points each).
Scoring:
Team Score is calculated as the sum of two components: (A) total points earned from all correct answers in Team Round and (B) the sum of Individual Scores of all team members.
The maximum Team Score is 240 points. There is no penalty for incorrect or blank answers.
In case of ties, Round Tiebreaker Algorithm is used.
Team Score determines the final ranking for Team Awards.
Qualification:
Participants with top 30 Individual Scores are announced and invited to compete.
Format:
Participants individually solve 20 problems in 5 minutes.
There are 20 speed-and-accuracy problems (worth 2 points each).
Speed-and-accuracy problems are short-answer problems comparable to Knockout Round questions and intended to be solved quickly.
Scoring:
Expedition Score is calculated as the total points earned from all correct answers in Expedition Round.
The maximum Expedition Score is 40. Each incorrect answer incurs a 1 point penalty. There is no penalty for blank answer.
Expedition Score determines the qualifying participants for Knockout Round.
Format:
Participants play two rounds of Bingo that consists of two different modes.
Math questions are projected and read, one at a time with a 45-second limit before the answer is revealed.
The answer to each question is a whole number between 1 and 75, inclusive. The answer will be the called number to mark off.
BINGO Mode:
Regular BINGO rules (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) apply.
Participants with BINGO are invited onto the stage for staff validation.
First 30 participants with valid BINGO will win and select a minor prize!
Survival Mode:
A card survives each question only if it DOES NOT have the number answers to Bonus questions. The goal is to avoid all called numbers!
Survival count is checked after each question by a raise of hands.
When the survival count goes below 30, participants with surviving cards are invited onto the stage.
The last surviving participant will win and receive a major prize!
Qualification:
Participants with top 12 Expedition Scores are announced and invited to compete on stage.
Format:
Participants solve speed-and-accuracy problems in head-to-head buzzer matches.
Knockout Round progresses according to a single-elimination tournament bracket, seeded based on Expedition Scores.
Top 4 seeded participants receive a bye in the first round.
The third-place match is conducted before the finals match.
Procedure:
Questions are projected and read, one at a time with a 45-second limit.
Participants may buzz in at any time, once per question.
After the moderator acknowledges, the participant must answer within 3 seconds.
If the participant answers incorrectly or fails to answer, the other participant has the remainder of the time limit to buzz in.
Participants start with 3 life points each. (4 life points each for the final 4 matches.)
If a participant answers correctly, the opposing participant loses one life point.
If both participants answer incorrectly or fails to answer, both participants lose one life point each.
The first participant to reach zero life point is eliminated, and the surviving participant advances.
If both participants reach zero life point at the same time, the first participant to correctly answer the next question advances.
