The order of problem difficulty is determined by comparing the total number of correct answers across all participants for each problem. For example,
The only difference between Team Registration and Solo Registration is that we help Solo Registrants form teams. Do not register for both.
Please first try contacting your student’s friends, teachers, school admins, and PTA/PTO to see if there are other students who may be interested in joining your student(s) to form a team.
Solo Registration is available for students who are unable to form a team. Solo Registrants will be grouped into teams by MAMTS organizers on a best-efforts basis.
Yes. You can pay the registration fee first and update the registration form later by adding or substituting team members.
Yes. However, having a full team of 4 members is strongly recommended because teams with less than 4 team members will generally be at a considerable disadvantage. You can optionally request for Solo Registrant(s) to join your team.
No. Although most teams will be school teams, a team can consist of students from different schools. Schools and Coaches can register as many as teams as they wish.
Yes. As long as all team members are Grades 3-5 for Div E and Grades 6-8 for Div M.
The target difficulty levels for Div E (Grades 3-5) tournament problems range from MOEMS-E to MATHCOUNTS school level. The four main topic areas are pre-algebra, geometry, number theory, and combinatorics (counting and probability).
The target difficulty levels for Div M (Grades 6-8) tournament problems range from MOEMS-M to MATHCOUNTS chapter/state and AMC 8/10 levels. The four main topic areas are algebra, geometry, number theory, and combinatorics.
All Div E (Grades 3-5) participants solve the same Div E tournament problems, and all Div M (Grades 6-8) participants solve the same Div M tournament problems. Div E and Div M tournament problems are different.
All past tournament problems and answers will be available for reference and practice in Results page. However, as this year will be the first official tournament, unfortunately there are no sample problems currently available.
All participants are strongly encouraged to stay for the whole duration of the tournament.
However, we do understand that some participants may have other obligations in the afternoon.
Participants should at least complete all Main Rounds. Please refer to the sample schedules for the expected timeline of the tournament components.
Lunch Coupons are included for receiving complimentary large cheese pizza, snacks, and drinks during the lunch break. You may also bring your own lunch.
