Established in 2025 and based in Northern Virginia, Mid-Atlantic Math Tournament Series (MAMTS) hosts large-scale, in-person math tournaments for upper elementary and middle school students.
Most math contests nowadays, especially for the elementary school age group, are conducted virtually online or individually like school tests, often misleading young minds to misconceive that math is a solitary activity with a heavy emphasis on systematic problem solving.
Our mission is to inspire collaborative fun and provide meaningful opportunities for all participants to create lifelong memories through competitive math.
(A) encourage social interactions to foster mathematical learning through communication, teamwork, and mutual exploration
(B) promote early exposure to math tournament experience
(C) reinforce preparation for prominent math competitions (such as MATHCOUNTS and AMC series)
(D) stimulate strategic thinking and persistence beyond problem solving in a fun and engaging setting
(E) connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications through creative problems
(F) recognize and celebrate exceptional performance
(G) offer enjoyable experience for students and guests by minimizing wait time and incorporating elements of entertainment

We are seeking passionate, like-minded individuals and entities to help enhance the MAMTS tournament experience even further in the following capacities:
Staff - dedicated team members providing administrative support and on-site coordination
Volunteer - adults and high school students providing non-administrative assistance
Partner / Sponsor - companies, organizations, or individuals contributing resources
The main areas of support currently needed are:
Proofreading
Tournament day coordination
On-stage technology and software
Monetary backing (scholarships, financial aid, prizes)
